Dineth M. Bandarage

Dileni is currently a student at Lexington High School in Lexington, Massachusetts, USA. In 2005, Dileni founded the non-profit organization “Help Develop Sri Lanka”. Her current and future projects involve an outreach to people in Sri Lanka. The newest program, “Peace and Tolerance for Kids”, started last summer, aims to educate young children and students about peace and ethnic tolerance. Though it is hard to change the mindset of the older generation, Dileni believes that teaching children to tolerate others is one small step towards ending the civil war.

Dineth is currently a student at Lexington High School in Lexington, Massachusetts, USA. Along with his sister Dileni, Dineth is co-founder of the non-profit organization “Help Develop Sri Lanka”. Although Dineth is a busy student and an active member of the varsity debate team at LHS, he puts a lot of time and effort into his community work for Sri Lanka.  He has consistently helped Dileni in fundraising events for their Tsunami Project. His current focus is placing street signs in Sri Lankan rural villages.
